Welcome
to Outlook Web Access.
This web-based service gives you private access to your
Hunter Student e-mail account. You can jump off from this page
to log on to your SMail Exchange account on the web, where you
will be able to read and send mail, check your calendar and
address book, and use most of the features that are available
within the Outlook client application.*
 |
Log
on here to the SMail Exchange server.
Click
the "Log On" button, then enter the SNetID
and password that was mailed to you, and connect to
your personal e-mail account. In some browsers in the
dialog box there is also an optional check box for saving
your password. Do not check this box on systems other
than your own -- otherwise you will have just left behind
a non-password protected access link to your e-mail
account.
If
you have not received a letter with your SNetID, you
can look up the information at the E-mail
Account lookup page.

Don't
forget to log off.
Once you've finished your online SMail Exchange session,
don't forget to log off using the icon in the left menu
panel. By logging off, you close the session between
the client and the server. If you close only the
web browser, there is no guarantee that your session
is closed. If anyone else will be using this computer
after you, you should completely exit your browser to
keep your account private.

Redirect
email.
You can redirect e-mail from your Hunter account to
another e-mail address. If you are using IE 5.0 or later
on a PC running Windows, log onto SMail and you will
see a "Redirect" icon in the left-hand navigation
bar, just below the Logoff icon. If you are using a
Macintosh or a non-IE browser, a web service to request
redirecting will be available soon. In the meantime,
use the Public Access Computers or go to the Student
Helpdesk to request redirecting of e-mail.
If
you don't have MS Internet Explorer 5.0 or later, the
Redirect button in Outlook Web Access is not displayed.
Instead, you will need to click on the link below to
redirect e-mail from your Hunter account to another
e-mail address: standard

*Note:
If you use the full Outlook client and you have configured it
to manage mail or addresses on your own computer system (with
"Personal Folders" or "Personal Address Book"),
then those items will not be viewable with this Web Access client.
You can only see those items using Outlook on your own desktop
computer.
